![]() ![]() Its just that ive been using my beloved 2 rocket reels TG-F1 mk3(chrome/gold) and Tg-F2mk3(black/gold)extensively for the past 1.5 years and i've been blown away by their performance ! To say that they are super smooth in performance is an understatement ! And they are mean casting reels !(and those who know me know i dont hold back although i'm not a tourney caster !) now finally after using them for a full 1.5 years i'm finally gonna do an extensive review on you tube because these reels deserve every bit of respect many sarcastically tease me about having gold plated reels(including my close friends!)But one of them who recently casted one extensively admitted they are really very smooth and perform well(and this guy has been a multiplier guy for past 30+years !)I'm very surprised that these reels dont get mentioned very much here as i've never used anything better ever and i've been thru lots !(although i can understand these are rolls royce reels at super high prices !) I hope to prove a point why they cost so much and although i'm not very mechanically knowledgeable its even better as im just a normal average joe on the beach who wants to have fun and not being paid to talk about tackle its just my passion to talk and review tackle and cast and fish and have fun ! Ive read in the casting section a certain Andrew Sheehan has casted over 300 yards(quite a few times !) using the tg f2 mk 3 rocket reel ! ![]() I dont want abu or akios(bad experiences)so stumbled upon this reel in internet and thought to myself how can a reel with so many thoughtful features that looks so good cost can cost so good too ? Tim buddy another fantastic and helpful reply very nice n fully appreciated ! This is what I call to the POINT OF OP REPLY ! I'm convinced this reel is a really a good reel at a cheap price !(extremely rare these days !) Here's a vid of Kevin fishing for plaice using a Tronix reel and a Century rod, one of my favourite videos. Look on youtube for an angler call Kevin Brandwood, he's a 250 + caster ( and a very nice pleasant person with a relaxed style of presenting) and he use's the reels off the beach, I spoke to him when looking for suitable reels for flatfish, he rated them, but he did state for distance casting they need tinkering with ( different oils etc) but most reels do. I have a good number of reels ranging from 65's Akios, Alc mags, Diawa, Penn etc but I use these pretty much exclusively for much of my summer clean ground fishing and in the winter after Whiting. 30 ghostline (red) off the rocks into sand, really like them and don't have any problems with them, people slate them for being cheap reels, but I have found them to be excellent, they cast smoothly, retrieves nicely, well balanced and light, just what I want for summer days after plaice etc. I use the Tronix tourny mags for flatfish fishing, loaded with 13lb. ![]()
